Torque Converters
For the maximum performance for your diesel truck equipped with an automatic transmission, it is imperative that the torque converter be matched to the truck, engine, and primary purpose.
One design does not fit all. Aftermarket custom torque converters can be very costly when compared to factory or rebuilt converters. When you choose a torque converter for your truck, some of the variables you should consider are:
The reputation and history of the company, do they offer more than one model? Do they ask the right questions about the truck and your intended use? When you call we would like to know the “profile” of the truck. Year, make, Model, present and future power upgrades, axle ratio, tire size, and primary purpose. We want to deliver the ultimate product to you.
Stall Torque Ratios and efficiency ratings of a particular torque converter may be completely different in one truck than it is in another. Make sure you understand what STR and efficiency percentages mean when applied to your application.
